Experienced race engineer John Morton, a man with 14 BTCC titles behind him, joins Flash Engineering and Colin Turkington for the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship 2011.
”We are very happy to have John in the team. He is going to be an important part in the success for Flash Engineering in 2011 alongside Colin,” said driver and team owner Jan ”Flash” Nilsson.

John Morton has previously worked for the title-winning teams West Surrey Racing and VX Racing in the BTCC and last year he was responsible for the WTCC efforts of WSR and Turkington.

”Flash Engineering is a well organized and competitive team. I am looking forward to work with them in this new challenge, especially as STCC is looking to become just as strong as BTCC and WTCC this year,” said Morton.

Morton has worked as chief designer and technical director for Triple Eight Engineering and is looking forward to the new challenge with Turkington in Scandinavia.

”The fact that we raced in the WTCC last year with many new tracks gives me higher confidence ahead of this season. One of the abilities that Colin possesses is to learn a circuit quickly and have the patience to find that little extra to be in top of qualifying and races,” said Morton.

Morton is going to be responsible of Turkington’s car in the STCC while Toby Philips is going to be responsible for the car of ”Flash”.
