Colin Turkington fought his way to seventh in the first Scandinavian Touring Car Championship race of the year at Jyllandsringen in Denmark.
”It was hard work. The car was amazing, we have got a really good race setup and that should be even better for the second race,” said Turkington.

Jan ”Flash” Nilsson crossed the line as ninth after a hard fight with Patrik Olsson in the race.
”It was a chaotic start, I lost a couple of places that I was able to retake on the first lap. Unfortunately I had to push Patrik a bit, the turbo cars are impossible on the straights. I am going to go to him now and explain my ”Tyson-style”,” said ”Flash”.

Turkington was eight for the majority of the race, but the Flash Engineering driver was able to get past on the final couple of laps.
”It is difficult to pass here, but I felt early on that I had the pace on Mattias and I was able to get past in the end. I am pleased overall, the plan was to score points early on this year and we have managed that so far,” said Turkington.

Thanks to the reversed grid, Turkington is going to start second in the second race, with ”Flash” ninth.
