Jan ”Flash” Nilsson turned around his nightmare qualifying session with a monster drive through the field to fourth from 18th on the grid.
”I went past a car almost all the time, the BMW was amazing,” said ”Flash”.

Team mate Colin Turkington was unfortunately forced to retire from the race after just two corner as he fell victim of an incident between Martin Öhlin and Mattias Andersson.
”It is disappointing to finish the race on the first lap. Öhlin hit my front end and I lost steering as a steering rod broke on my car,” said Turkington.

”Flash” got past 14 cars in his fight up through the field to fourth with a lot of overtaking maneuvers.
”If there would have been more incidents up ahead, I would have caught the top and then I would have won the race. I had the momentum and it is going to be a good second race,” said ”Flash”.

Another driver hoping for a strong second race is Turkington who is going to start last while ”Flash” is going to start fifth.
”The upside with the first race is that Jan showed that it is possible to score points from last on the grid. I am looking forward to an exciting second race,” said Turkington.
