50-year-old Jan ”Flash” Nilsson beat the entire STCC field and secured his 34th victory at Mantorp Park today.
”Wonderful! For a driver that supposedly is too old, I have to say that this result is okay,” said ”Flash” with a smile.

Colin Turkington drove his way from last on the grid to tenth over the finish line, securing the final point of the race.
”It has been a very difficult day for me. The point I got with me could be valuable at the end of the championship,” said Turkington.

”Flash” started second but was in the lead in the second corner. The Flash Engineering driver was then able to pull up a gap and cross the line first on his own.
”The car was excellent in the race and I had it under control. We are going to go through the stuff that has been good and bad this weekend and hopefully continue on top in Gothenburg,” said ”Flash”.

STCC continues at Gothenburg City Race Arena in four weeks where ”Flash” and Turkington are going to arrive on fifth position in the drivers championship, both on 58 points.
”I lost some points this weekend, but the speed of our cars and Jan’s victory is a real boost for the morale in the team. I am looking forward to Gothenburg and I am hoping to jump the championship table then,” said Turkington.

The two Flash Engineering drivers are 24 points away from the championship lead and Flash Engineering is third in the teams championship, just 16 points from the top.
”I had 40 points up to the championship lead ahead of Mantorp, now I am ”only” 24 points away. Anything is possible for the rest of the season,” said ”Flash”.
