Lindland seventh in Carrera World Cup qualifying
Roar Lindland improved his lap time with six seconds and claimed seventh on the grid among the Scandinavian drivers in the Porsche Carrera World Cup at Nürburgring Nordschleife.
”It is going better and better and the feeling of the car is steadily improving. There is still a lot of time to find with lines and braking points. But I am going to try and climb among the Scandinavian drivers in the race tomorrow,” said Lindland.
Prince Carl Philip is going to start 11th among the Scandinavians and 75th overall.
”I had higher expectations, but I am still rather pleased. I am eagerly excited for the race, it is going to be so exciting,” said Prince Carl Philip.
The third Porsche driver of Flash Engineering, Matte Karlsson, improved his best time of yesterday with no less than 25 seconds and was a happy man in 85th overall and 13th in Carrera Cup Scandinavia.
”This really is a steep learning curve as I am doing my 12th race weekend ever. I am pleased with the steps we have taken forward today. But the race is tomorrow and then everything is different. My goal is to finish the race and complete six solid laps,” said Karlsson.
The qualifying session proved to challenging with a sudden rain shower just before the start, classic Nürburgring conditions. While the start and finish straight was soaked in water, the track was more or less dry just a couple of corners later. The drivers started on rain tyres but had to change for slicks as the track remained dry for the rest of the session.
The race starts at 11.20 CET tomorrow and is broadcasted live on Eurosport and live-delay on Viasat Motor at 21.15. The race is also available via live timing at either www.racecam.de or www.24hrennen.de.
