Jan ”Flash” Nilsson turned the nightmare start of the weekend to a success with a superior victory in the second race at Falkenberg today.
”Wonderful, one of my best victories ever! It was extra nice that I was superior in the race,” said ”Flash”.

Team mate Colin Turkington doubled the joy by finishing third, just two seconds behind ”Flash” over the finishing line.
”I am pleased to be on the podium and it was fantastic to be there with ”Flash”, he made a perfect race today. It was a tough race with a lot of contact, but I scored a lot of points from the weekend and I am happy with that,” said Turkington.

The double podium finish meant that Flash Engineering secured the team championship victory, climbing to third in the championship.
”It did not look good after the qualifying, but we managed to turn it around with some really strong driving of both drivers in the races. We have got a good starting point ahead of the final half of STCC 2011,” said team principal Johan Kvick.

The victory in the race of today moves ”Flash” up to 35 STCC victories overall since the start of the championship in 1996, equal with Richard Göransson. The statistics for the Falkenberg track is another story with ”Flash” being on his own with 11 victories, 7 fastest laps and 6 pole positions, more than any other STCC driver.
”You can easily say that Falkenberg is my favorite. The victory also boosts my confidence ahead of the remaining season as well as for 2012. And as for my fight with Göransson on the overall number of victories, the age of 36 is the only thing he is going to see of that number,” said ”Flash”.

The two Flash Engineering drivers climbs the drivers championship after the two races today with ”Flash” in fifth position, 82 points, and Turkington in sixth position, 76 points. Flash Engineering and STCC heads in to the holiday break and returns at the home track Karlskoga on the 13th of August.
”We won here last year and we are going to win again this year, no doubt,” said ”Flash”.
