Flash Engineering driver Colin Turkington is going to take part in the WTCC race at Donington Park next weekend.
”We have a big summer break now in the STCC and this opportunity came up in the last minute,” said Turkington.

Turkington is going to race for the German team Wiechers-Sport in a BMW 320 TC.
”It is great that a German BMW team wants to hire Colin as a driver in a World Championship event. Colin is a fantastic driver and everyone at Flash Engineering wishes him the best of luck for the race,” said Jan ”Flash” Nilsson.

Turkington completed a couple of WTCC races last year where he claimed one victory and three podium finishes. But the Northern Irishman wants to keep his expectations low ahead of the weekend.
”I had some strong performances in the WTCC last year, but it could be a bit more tricky this time with a new team and a new configuration of the car,” said Turkington.

With the new engine regulations in the WTCC, Turkington is going to drive a BMW that has got an identical chassis to the BMW he drives in the STCC for Flash Engineering, but that is equipped with a new 1.6 turbo engine at about 320 BHP.
”It is going to be interesting driving the new engine and the BMW has been strong in the WTCC this year,” said Turkington.

Turkington is going to head back to Sweden after the race in the UK for the remaining part of the STCC, starting at Karlskoga on the 13th of August.
”I am looking forward to the race and I am hoping for a strong result. But as it looks now, there will not be any more races in the WTCC this year. My main focus is on STCC with Flash Engineering and we had a strong result at Falkenberg last time out that I hope we can continue with at Karlskoga,” said Turkington.
