Colin Turkington second in chaotic qualifying

Colin Turkington was second fastest in the STCC qualifying at Jyllandsringen, a session that turned out to be chaotic due to rain showers.
”It was a tough session! I would of course liked to be on pole, but second is good and I am pleased,” said Turkington.

The session started dry, but the drops started to fall right ahead of the start and made it extra difficult for the driver to get temperature in the tyres. Jan ”Flash” Nilsson is going to start 17th tomorrow and was not happy.
”At first the rain made it difficult for us and as for the setup, no matter what I did, I was unable to get any heat in the tyres. A really weak qualifying session, I’ll have to aim for a monster drive through the field tomorrow,” said ”Flash”.

Pole position shifted between Tommy Rustad and Turkington as many times as they past the finishing line for the last five minutes, at the same time as the rain increased.
”At first I thought we had chosen the wrong tyres, it was really slippery. But I persevered and the car really came alive for the last three laps,” said Turkington.
