Turkington equals best ever result in race one

Colin Turkington equaled his best ever result in the STCC with second in the first race of the weekend at Jyllandsringen.
”It felt really good to be on the podium again, I am delighted to finish second,” said Turkington.

Turkington started second and was about four seconds behind Tommy Rustad throughout the race, a distance the Flash Engineering driver reduced to 1.9 seconds over the finishing line.

Jan ”Flash” Nilsson pulled off yet another strong drive through the field from 17th on the grid to 10th and the final point from the race. The double STCC champion had a strong fight for eighth with Honda drivers Fabrizio Giovanardi and Casper Elgaard.
”As the Hondas are so much lighter, it’s almost impossible to get past. But I am rather pleased, the car is better now,” said ”Flash”.

The second race starts at 15.35 CET and the weather conditions has turned around. Rain started falling two minutes after the finish and it remains to be seen if the track dries up in time for the second race.
