Jan ”Flash” Nilsson was tenth fastest in his and Flash Engineering’s last ever STCC qualifying.
”I am actually really pleased, I drove just one lap and aborted the session after that. We’ve got fresh tyres for the race now and this is a really good track to pass on,” said ”Flash”.

Colin Turkington was not pleased after qualifying and is going to start 16th, despite that he was only 0.659 seconds from fastest time in Q1.
”It was a not an easy session and we were a bit off the top. We were losing three tenths just on the long straight, but we’ll see what we can do for tomorrow. But Jan proved in the spring race at Mantorp that this is a track that you can pass at, I am aiming for that tomorrow,” said Turkington.

Daniel Roos was second fastest privateer in his first ever STCC qualifying session, but the 22-year-old was not completely satisfied.
”It was really close in the times and I chickened out a a bit, there was more to get from the tyres. But as I’ve only driven the car for 45 minutes in dry conditions before, I guess that I am rather pleased,” said Roos.
