Flash Engineering has gathered all the statistics from the past STCC season. Read about who has got the most podiums, the most fastest laps, the most penalties, the most overtaking maneuvers, the team with the most retirements and much more.
Flash Engineering and the other teams have together driven 18 races, over 6 000 laps and more than 15 000 kilometers of racing during the 2011 season.
Victories
Three drivers were alone in taking three victories this season, a trio including championship rivals Rickard Rydell and Fredrik Ekblom. While Rydell claimed two victories in the final half of the season, Ekblom remained on three from the first part. Richard Göransson, who missed the first part of the season because of a crash in the premiere, impressed at Karlskoga with a double victory and climbed to the top of the list.

Third places
Fredrik Ekblom is alone at the top of most podium places with twice as many as the closet rivals in the form of Colin Turkington, James Thompson, Rickard Rydell, Tomas Engström and Roger Eriksson.

Fredik Ekblom is on his own on the number of podium finishes with no less than ten out of 18. Champion Rickard Rydell managed to claim the title despite visiting the podium four times less than Ekblom and shares second with Tommy Rustad.

Pole positions
Rickard Rydell made a strong comeback in the second part of the season on the number of pole position and got even with Fredrik Ekblom on three. Remaining pole positions were claimed by Tommy Rustad, two, and Richard Göransson, one.

Q2
None of the drivers of the championship managed to get to the second qualifying session, Q2, in all nine race weekends of 2011. Closest was the top trio of Fredrik Ekblom, Tommy Rustad and Rickard Rydell with just one missed Q2 session. Closest to the top was Colin Turkington with two missed Q2’s.

Qualifying average top ten
While Rickard Rydell was on his own in the qualifying average by the first half of the season, the Chevrolet driver got caught up by rival Fredrik Ekblom. Both drivers ended up on position 3.4 in qualifying average, with Tommy Rustad closest on 4.1. Johan Kristoffersson impressed in the five qualifying sessions he took part in with an average of 4.2.

Taking one step back to the first qualifying session, Q1, and Rickard Rydell remains on top, although with a drop from 1.2 to 2.6 compared to the first half of the season. Fredrik Ekblom averages 3.8 in Q1, a position he improves by 0.2 places to Q2.

Reversed grid for race two
Johan Stureson continues on top with the best average grid position for the second race, a grid decided by reversing the top eight of the first race. The IPS Motorsport driver has on average started from position 5.4 in the second race, a whopping 2.2 places better than his closest rival – Fredrik Ekblom.

Richard Göransson is the top man on setting fatest laps during the races with five this season. Champion Rickard Rydell is closest on four, followed by Tommy Rustad and Jan ”Flash” Nilsson.

Average finishing position top ten
Champion Rickard Rydell has, not surprisingly, got the best average finishing position in the championship this year. The Chevrolet driver has on average crossed the finishing line on position 3.6 in the 18 races of the season while Fredrik Ebklom has got position 4.7 on average. Johan Kristoffersson is once again impressive with the second best average on 3.9 in the nine races he took part in.

Overtaking maneuvers
Patrik Olsson is the driver with most overtaking maneuvers in the championship this year, closely followed by Tomas Engström and Jan ”Flash” Nilsson. The Volkswagen driver has on average improved his finishing position with 2.1 places from his grid position. Furthest down in the list is Tommy Rustad, just as in the first part of the season, with an average drop of 0.4 places in the races.

Average finishing position teams
Team Biogas.se clearly shows the reason for the team title with the best average position with the four drivers of the team. Fredrik Ekblom, Patrik Olsson, Johan Kristoffersson and Thed Björk has on average finished sixth, 0.9 positions better than Volvo Polestar Racing’s Tommy Rustad, James Thompson, Gabriele Tarquini and Robert Dahlgren.
Rickard Rydell’s Chevrolet Team Sweden are in bright contrast where Viktor Hallrup and Michel Nykjaer pulls down the average to 8.7, an average beaten by no less than six other teams.

The troublesome season of WestCoast Racing is shown with the largest number of retired races. Richard Göransson and Martin Öhlin has together claimed seven retired races, one more than Chevrolet Team Sweden.
Flash Engineering’s Colin Turkington and Jan ”Flash” Nilsson are the drivers with the least number of retirements of this season with three.
