Matte Karlsson took part in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany final at Hockenheim this weekend. The Swede had a steep learning curve keeping in mind that he has only completed two racing season ever with GT3 Cup Challenge last year and Carrera Cup Scandinavia this year.
“The weekend has been really interesting and I have taken big steps forward. It was really a lot of fun to race at legendary Hockenheim with so strong opponents,” said Karlsson.

Karlsson qualified 26th and crossed the line as 24th, despite technical problems.
“The start went well and I followed Kristoffersson and some other drivers, but then the car just died. I had to restart it, but by then I had almost lost half a lap. It has overall been a good weekend, I improved my best time from the first test by several seconds. All in all a good end to the season,” said Karlsson.

Sean Edwards won the final race while Nick Tandy claimed the championship title with eight points over Edwards.
