Flash Engineering driver Colin Turkington was right in the top as WTCC raced at Suzuka in Japan last weekend. The Northern Irishman was fastest driver in the first qualifying session and secured two privateer podium finishes.
”We had a good weekend and I am happy with two podium finishes,” said Turkington.

After third among the privateers in the first race, Turkington fought hard for victory in the second race with Michel Nykjaer.
”I had more pace, but I couldn’t find a way past cleanly. It would have been easy to force my way past. But I am not involved at all in the championship and you have to have respect for what the other guys are doing. I put him under pressure, but I wasn’t going to do anything silly,” said Turkington.

The privateer podium finishes ment sixth and seventh overall in WTCC at Suzuka. Turkington is aiming higher for the next race in China.
”Japan was mainly about preparation for China. Now we sort of know the car, we have it in a good place for me and hopefully we can be fast in Shanghai. I’m going out to do my best, but it is not easy to just drive one or two races for a new team. I think if I can position my self in qualifying, then I would aim for the podium,” said Turkington.
